As a toddler, I was given a beautiful Chiltern Hugmee teddy bear for my first birthday by my parents. 'Big Ted' inspired my lifelong interest in teddy bears, initially as a collector, then subsequently as a teddy bear designer.
I work from home, designing and creating teddy bears in my workroom on a vintage Bernina sewing machine, adding finishing touches by hand. My favourite pastimes, when I am not bearmaking, are spending time with my family, tending my roses, reading, knitting and walking my dogs.
My career as a British teddy bear artist...
I have been designing teddy bears for adult collectors around the world since the mid 1990's and am very grateful to have had them regularly featured in specialist collectors' publications around the world. I have been honoured with many international awards for my work, including the TOBY Industry's Choice Award, 'British Bear Artist Award' and 'The Excellence in Bear Artistry Award'.
